Ed is a managing partner and co-founder of Birch Run Financial. He believes that financial planning combined with diversified portfolio management is vital to financial success, and he devotes his efforts to helping clients pursue their goal of a confident retirement.
As a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, Ed has in-depth knowledge of the needs individuals face both before and after retirement, and engages in retirement planning for a variety of important issues, such as sources of retirement income, employer-sponsored retirement plans, tax planning, retirement cash flow, asset management, estate planning and more.
Ed began his career in the capital markets division of Morgan Stanley in 2001 and holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses. He has been featured in numerous publications, including The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Business Journal, and has appeared on NBC 10 News in Philadelphia as a retirement planning commentator.
Ed earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and earned the CRPC® designation from the College for Financial Planning®. He has been invited back to Ursinus College on numerous occasions as a guest speaker to share his experiences in the financial services industry with students.
Ed lives in Newtown Square with his wife, Rachel, and daughters, Avery and Elena. He spends much of his free time in Ocean City, New Jersey, where you’ll often find him fishing on the beach in the early morning hours.
