Martha has been serving as a financial advisor to her clients for over four decades, and many are the grown children of her original clients. “The greatest compliment I receive is when a client thanks me for helping them and always being there for them. Many of my clients have become personal friends,” said Martha.
She provides guidance for her clients’ financial lives and a variety of personal issues. She is also dedicated to educating her clients about the risks and rewards of a variety of financial instruments, as well as the allocation of those investments in their portfolios.
Martha looks at each day as a learning experience that provides her with insight from news events, financial markets and economic issues, which helps her develop investment strategies suitable for her clients. “My day does not end at 4 p.m. when the market closes, as most evenings you can find me listening to investment manager replays and reading financial newsletters to stay informed,” Martha said.
Martha joined Raymond James in 2019. Previously, she was a senior vice president at UBS Financial Services. Earlier, she was a senior vice president at Smith Barney (formerly EF Hutton) and a vice president of Manufacturers National Bank. She began her career in 1972 as a financial analyst at General Motors Corporation. Martha holds an MBA degree from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. She attended public school in Detroit, where she was valedictorian of her high school class.
Martha lives and works remotely in Longboat Key, Florida, with her husband. Having committed to a fitness routine about four years ago, Martha enjoys morning walks as the sun rises over Sarasota Bay. She looks forward to helping young women develop a financial education at a local Sarasota organization.
