Larry J. Ellis,
CFP® First Vice President, InvestmentsTrustworthy and experienced, practical and pragmatic, Larry is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional who believes that establishing a personal connection is the best approach to offering financial guidance suited to the individual needs of each client.
Life can be complicated enough without having to face financial decisions, and Larry's clients feel comfortable in allowing him to provide the straightforward guidance and advice they need. Larry's areas of expertise include small business planning, estate and legacy planning and retirement planning.
Prior to joining Raymond James in 2007, Larry served as a vice president at Merrill Lynch for 12 years. Larry earned the prestigious title of Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner in 2002, adding knowledge to his foundation of a bachelor's degree in finance from Florida State University. He continues to regularly attend advanced training to keep current on wealth planning trends for the individuals and families he serves.
Family is important to Larry. In fact, he followed in his father's footsteps when he entered the financial services industry. His own family connections and experiences have enabled him to relate to the issues and concerns of the families he serves. And now, the business has entered the third generation, with his daughter Lauren joining the team in 2024 and forming Bluewater Wealth Advisors.
Larry is a long-time Tampa Bay resident and lives in St. Pete Beach, with his wife Shari, a retired teacher. In addition to spending time with his family, Larry finds immense enjoyment pursuing his passions - as an accomplished wood turner, avid sports fisherman and sporting clays shooter. He enjoys including clients on his pursuits, where they often discover that the most productive business conversations take place outside the office.
