Peter H. King comes to Raymond James from Waddell & Reed where he led their Financial Advisor Division’s Twin Cities Complex – the first complex to be formed at the firm. He was responsible for almost 60 associates and 30 support staff with approximately $3 billion in assets and $17 million in annual revenue.
Prior to Waddell & Reed, King spent 17 years at Merrill Lynch where in 1996 after spending six years in the U.S. Army, he began his career as a financial advisor in Raleigh, N.C. In 1998, while maintaining his advisory practice, he moved into branch management and spent five years as resident director, new advisor coach and branch manager -- first in Greenville and then Cary, N.C. -- ultimately becoming the associate director for Merrill Lynch’s Mideast Region, overseeing five states.
In 2006, King moved with Merrill Lynch to St. Paul, Minnesota, where he was a six-time ‘Service Quality Award’ winning complex director overseeing approximately 100 advisors and 50 support staff managing some $11 billion in client assets and generating $76 million in annual revenue.
