Allen is the patriarch of the group and has more than 40 years of corporate and financial industry experience. As Allen always says, “Communication is the most important part of the client's relationship with their financial advisor.” Clients deserve to know the thought process and reasoning behind our investment recommendations, and he takes the time to educate them to that end.
With over 31 years of experience, he is fully capable in all areas, but within the team his focus is economic and technical analysis, as well as research on exchange traded funds, closed-end funds, and individual stocks. "By utilizing the team approach to share research and client service responsibilities, our clients can be helped."
Prior to the financial industry, he was Senior Partner and Vice President of Lucas Associates, Inc. (a professional recruiting firm) in Atlanta, and later Dallas. In 1987, he made the decision to change careers and became a financial advisor with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. in Orlando. In 2008, after 20 years with A.G. Edwards, the Brinckerhoff Financial Group moved to Raymond James due to the extensive resources, equity research and unique culture of independence offered by the firm.
Upon graduation from Mercer University with a B.A. in economics, Allen entered the U.S. Army, where he graduated from the Army Aviation Program in the top 2% of his class. Completing his military obligation as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, he separated from active duty as a captain. Continuing his passion for aviation, Allen uses his Cessna 182 to support charities like Angel Flight Southeast, the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation, Veterans Airlift Command, EAA Young Eagles, and EAA Eagles.
Allen was born in Duluth, Minnesota, however, spent virtually all his childhood growing up in Daytona Beach, Florida. Today, Allen lives in Windermere with his wife, Jane. In addition to their two sons, David and Matthew (who work as part of the group), they also have two grandchildren.
