J. Tyler Thompson,

CFP®, AAMS®, WMS® Financial Advisor

Tyler’s mission is to help clients plan for the “work optional” lifestyle they’ve imagined, using all the tools, knowledge and resources at hand. A Wealth Management Specialist and Accredited Asset Management SpecialistSM, he focuses on guiding business owners who are seeking funding or an exit strategy. Though an exit is inevitable, a successful exit takes preparation and planning, and Tyler takes these tasks to another level using a detailed and thorough process.

Clients appreciate his engaging and relatable manner and his dedication to putting their interests first. Playing a role in helping people pursue their lifelong goals, give something back and create the lifestyle they want is a reward in itself for him.

Tyler earned a bachelor’s in business management from Clayton State University and joined Raymond James in 2017. Before that, he served his country as a soldier in the Army. From his time in the military, Tyler brings a hard-charging, high-level work ethic. He strives to exemplify the Ranger creed every day. While serving, he attended some of the Army’s most prestigious schools including Ranger School, Airborne School, Combat Lifesaver Course, Level 3 Combat Water Survival Course, and SWAT School, and achieved Soldier of the Year in 2014* at Co H 121 Long Range Surveillance ABN INF.

Tyler believes in giving something back. He stays active in his local and veteran community by serving on the advisory board of Warrior2Citizen and serves as an usher at the church he’s attended for 15 years.

A lifelong Georgia resident, he lives in Peachtree City with his wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Charlotte Kate. His love of the outdoors is well known, and when he’s away from the office he enjoys fly fishing, hunting, hiking, golf and competing in triathlons and shooting competitions.

When the time comes for my work optional lifestyle, I’ll:

  • Go golfing in Scotland
  • Hike the Appalachian Trail
  • Go fly fishing at Henry’s Fork in Idaho
  • Climb Mt. Aconcagua
