Celebrating Alex’s Retirement
After more than four decades of dedicated service in the financial industry, Alex officially retired on December 31, 2025. As both a senior portfolio manager and a Certified Financial Planner™ professional since 1982, Alex has exemplified the highest standards of investment and relationship management. His approach has always centered on educating clients, managing expectations, and helping them maintain a long-term perspective amidst market noise.
Alex joined Raymond James in 2015, bringing with him integrity, a sense of humor, and a wealth of experience. His financial career began in 1980 at EF Hutton in Boston, and later continued at A.G. Edwards. In 2000, Alex and his family relocated to Burlington, Vermont, where he joined McDonald Investment Advisory. There he met Ryan Bartley and together they laid the foundation for what is now known as Catamount Financial Advisors.
A proud graduate of the University of Vermont and a native of Middlebury, Connecticut, Alex shares his life with his wife, Nancy. Together, they have raised four wonderful children—Brittany, Meghan, Nicholas, and Timothy—and enjoy international travel, with biking in New Zealand being a favorite memory. Outside of work, Alex’s passions include fly fishing, sailing, cross-country skiing, woodworking, and restoring classic British automobiles.
Alex’s guiding principle has always aligned with a core value of Catamount Financial Advisors: Always leave a situation better than you found it. His legacy of professionalism, care, and wisdom will continue to inspire us.
Please join us in congratulating Alex on an extraordinary career and wishing him all the best in this exciting new chapter!
