Jeff State

Investment Executive Branch Manager

Jeff is co branch manager at Raymond James Financial Services in Cedar Rapids Iowa. He is 62 years old and married with 2 adult children. His wife of 37 years, Cindy, is a recently retired Materials Manager from Regional Medical Center in Manchester, IA. Their son Gage is a project manager for a leading remediation company, and he specializes in the decommissioning of nuclear power plants. Their daughter Rylee is a sales representative for a company that specializes in regenerative wound care. Their home for the last 30 years is along the Maquoketa River just south of Manchester, IA

Jeff was a homebuilder for nearly 20 years, exiting the business in 2002. Jeff had developed a close friendship with Richard Altorfer, the prior owner and branch manager and came on as his associate in 2003. It was a relatively smooth transition and many of the clients that Jeff had built for soon became clients of Raymond James. In 2006 Jeff purchased the branch from Rich and has been working with clients on not only what investment vehicles to use, but also on the multitude of financial decisions they need to make over the course of their lifetimes.

Jeff is a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in Manchester and has served on various committees, as well as being congregational President. He also serves on the board of directors of Community Savings Bank and was recently appointed head of their internal audit committee. In his spare time Jeff spends as much time as he can on his small farm near Mederville, IA where he raises food plots for the wildlife and spends most weekends in the Fall in a tree stand bow hunting whitetail deer. Another passion of Jeff’s is the breeding and raising of quarter horses which he does with his brother. In recent years they have had success racing in Iowa, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Having grown up on a farm Jeff learned some of the most valuable lessons he feels a person can learn in this life, honesty, integrity and maybe most importantly the value and benefits of hard work.
