Stephen creates and implements comprehensive financial plans for families and individuals here in Northern Colorado and across the country, while also providing consulting services to corporate retirement plan sponsors.

He has a passion for helping people and a well-honed ability to identify planning strategies designed to address even clients’ most complex financial situations. His empathy and integrity are evident in every action he takes.

Stephen holds several key professional credentials that help him serve the specific and complex needs of his clients. In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, he is a Chartered Financial Consultant®, a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist® and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®.

In addition to managing the financial affairs of his clients, as a partner in Chapel & Collins Personal Wealth Management, Stephen is responsible for the practice’s business development.

Stephen began his professional career working in IT but, after eight years, realized he belonged in financial services and headed back to school. He graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and joined Chapel & Collins in 2006. He has been a financial advisor with Raymond James since 2007.

Outside of the office, he fulfills his commitment to giving back to the community by serving on the board of directors of the United Way of Larimer County.

Stephen grew up in Texas and today lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, with his wife, Lacie, and their children, Lee and Aubrie. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, reading and spending time in the great outdoors. It often leads him into local rivers to fish, and he is determined to visit every national park.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner,  CFP Logo Flame Design and  CFP Logo Plaque Design in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
