Christopher Wagner

PRIVATE WEALTH ADVISOR SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, WEALTH MANAGEMENT

With more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry to draw from, Chris has a knack for helping clients navigate the ups and downs of the markets. He specializes in comprehensive financial planning and believes that wealth management should go far beyond the important task of investment selection. Chris has earned the Private Wealth Advisor designation from Raymond James. This designation reflects his experience in managing the financial concerns of families, individuals, and organizations of significant wealth, and has a mastery of methods and resources necessary to support their expensive financial interests.

He finds great satisfaction in helping people take care of their families, prepare for retirement, monetize their business, build a legacy, and pursue important goals in life. Chris lets his clients know he is available when they need him. After all, the opportunity to help people is what drew him to this field. Playing the role of caregiver to his mother as a teen ingrained in him the drive to make a difference in people’s lives. Other hardships in his life – witnessing his parents’ divorce, losing his mother at a young age, coping with a sibling’s disability – have made him who he is today: dedicated, compassionate and caring.

Drawn by its focus on people and their financial well-being, Chris joined Raymond James in 2007. For the past seven years he has helped pay it forward as a mentor for new advisors completing the firm’s Advisor Mastery Program. His background also includes advisor roles at Merrill Lynch and Advest.

Chris also facilitates broader conversations with his clients’ other advisors such as CPA’s, personal representatives, and estate & elder planning attorneys to help ensure that all financial aspects are thoroughly considered and implemented according to the specific needs of each client.

Giving back to the community is a priority for Chris. He has played a volunteer role in youth sports, as a past member of the Raritan Valley New Jersey Soccer Officials Association, a soccer referee with the National Federation of High School Sports and the U.S. Soccer Federation. He is also past president of the Delaware Valley Soccer Club, and board member of the Holland Soccer League where he served as a Youth Soccer Coach for 12 years.

He also served for 12 years as a baseball coach for the Delaware Valley Athletic Association. An avid golfer and fly fisherman, he is a former board member of Oak Hill Golf Club and a current member, and is a member of Trout Unlimited, a national nonprofit dedicated to conserving North America’s cold-water fisheries and watersheds.

Originally from Tewksbury Township, New Jersey, he currently lives in Holland Township with his wife, Pam. They have two adult children, Megan, and Justin. When he is away from the office, Chris enjoys skiing, fly fishing, playing golf, hiking, and gardening.
