Matt brings 30 years of experience to his role as managing partner at Coastal Bend Wealth Partners. Reliable and disciplined, he strives to provide clients the guidance they need to pursue their financial goals while carefully monitoring risk. Matt also empowers his clients by helping them understand their investment objectives and tailoring financial strategies to their unique circumstances.

A graduate of the University of Missouri, Matt entered the financial services field in 1989 when he accepted the role of investment advisor at Dean Witter Reynolds. He later joined A.G. Edwards & Sons, where he was eventually promoted to branch manager. Matt has also served as a branch manager at Wachovia Securities and as a branch manager and first vice president of investments at Wells Fargo Advisors. He joined Raymond James in 2019, inspired by the firm’s innovation and independent, client- first culture.

Originally from Oregon, Matt has lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, for over 40 years. He and his wife, Susan, have three children, Rob, Susanna and Will. When he’s not at work or indulging in his love of travel, Matt enjoys playing basketball, golfing and woodworking. He also relishes the opportunity to spend an afternoon working in the yard or garden. Matt has been involved in various organizations including Rotary, World Affairs Council and Mission of Mercy. A former youth basketball coach, he was Booster Club president for the Calallen High School basketball programs.
