Christopher T. Spires

Chris Spires is a co founder of Coastal States Wealth Management and a Managing Director–Senior Vice President of Investments with more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Throughout his career, Chris has remained grounded in a simple philosophy of putting clients’ interests first, and he applies this mindset to helping business owners and other successful people make thoughtful decisions with their serious money. Chris is a graduate of Elon University and previously held positions with Smith Barney and Wachovia Securities before joining Raymond James & Associates in 2008.

Chris is particularly passionate about working with business owners, often helping them align their personal, financial, and business goals in preparation for life beyond their businesses. He holds Series 7, 63, and 66 licenses, is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary and Certified Exit Planning Advisor, and is a member of the Raymond James Institute of Business Owner Excellence Master Class. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Chris has called the Hilton Head/Bluffton area home for over two decades, and currently resides in Palmetto Bluff with his wife Dana and their three children. Chris is deeply committed to giving back to the community and currently serves on the governing board of Coastal Carolina Hospital, and is a strong advocate for the Outside Foundation’s mission and impact.
