Through 21 years in the industry, Jeff has built deep and meaningful ties with his clients and dedicates himself to helping families navigate the markets. A former small business owner, he specializes in serving entrepreneurs’ unique needs of saving and investing for their own retirements and the eventual sale or transfer of their business. He also enjoys working with retirees, helping them plan for family, income and legacy goals.

He takes the time to get to know each client, the charities they wish to support and how they want to spend their time. He strives to inspire confidence in clients that he has done his homework. Jeff understands that no two families are alike, and he listens without judgment to their objectives and aspirations in life.

Jeff joined Raymond James along with the Coeur Private Wealth Management Group in May 2020, drawn by the firm’s focus on putting clients first. Before that, he served as a senior financial advisor with Merrill Lynch for five years, and spent 17 years with Edward Jones. Before joining the industry, he was a dealer principal with Jeff Smith Ford Lincoln Mercury in Colorado. He studied at Indiana University in Bloomington and has earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠ designation. He also has an accreditation from the University of California, Berkeley, in geriatric financial planning.

He believes in giving back to the community, and has served on the local United Way Board and the board for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kootenai County, where he continues to work as the head of the endowment committee. He also serves on the board of Balance North Idaho, a nonpartisan public policy group. He has served on the board of Kootenai Perspectives, the Coeur d’Alene Chamber Public Policy Committee, and on the board of Community United Methodist Church in Coeur d’Alene as chair of the finance committee.

Born in Elkhart, Indiana, he lives in North Idaho with his wife, Juliann. They have lived there since 1997. The couple have a son, Kale, two daughters, Elizabeth and Raegen, and one grandchild, Lane. When he’s away from the office, you might find Jeff working on his golf game or spending time with his wife on his boat. He is also an avid backpacker and traveler and likes fly-fishing and hunting.
