Carla Tharp joined the Raymond James Energy Investment Banking group in July 2019 as managing director with a focus on upstream acquisitions & divestitures. Ms. Tharp brings over 25 years of experience in energy with an emphasis on valuations and E&P transactions as an engineer and investment banker. Her previous investment banking experience at Citigroup, Raymond James and Lantana Energy Advisors/SunTrust Robinson Humphrey covered E&P transactions for both private and public upstream E&P companies. Her engineering background includes the founding of C T Tharp & Co. in 2010 to provide acquisition and reservoir engineering consulting services. From 2007 to 2010, she co-founded Bent Oak Energy Interests, LLC, and was a partner and vice president of engineering for Parks & Luttrell II, LLC. Her career began with GCO Drilling, IP Petroleum and Torch Energy Advisors. Ms. Tharp received a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University and is a registered professional engineer in Texas.
