Gary Downing

Gary Downing joined Raymond James in 1984 as an associate in the Investment Banking department and is currently the COO of the Diversified Industrials practice. From 1992 to 1997 he served as a managing director and head of the Consumer group. He was also a member of the Raymond James Capital Markets Committee from 1990 to 1996. In 1997 Mr. Downing founded Raymond James Capital (the private equity division of Raymond James) and served as managing director for five years. In 2002 he rejoined the Investment Banking department as a managing director in the Mergers & Acquisitions group and formed the Middle Market Advisory group in 2005. Mr. Downing graduated magna cum laude from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering and earned an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business.
