Geoffrey Richards

Geoffrey Richards has more than 20 years of complex transaction experience in an extensive range of financing, restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions engagements, both in and outside Chapter 11. Mr. Richards has advised public and private companies, private equity sponsors, hedge funds, purchasers of distressed assets and businesses, key secured and unsecured creditors, DIP lenders, and creditors’ committees. Mr. Richards was previously head of North America debt finance and restructuring at Canaccord Genuity Group Inc., head of special situations and restructuring at William Blair & Company and a partner in the Kirkland & Ellis LLP restructuring practice. Since 2001, Mr. Richards has taught corporate restructuring as an adjunct professor at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.
