Munich, 26 September 2018 – Raymond James Corporate Finance is expanding its European Executive Advisory Board with the addition of Marcus W. Mosen, former Chief Executive Officer of Concardis, a leading German payments company. Mosen, who has more than 20 years’ professional experience in the payments and telecoms industry, is an angel investor and board member in FinTech companies such as Allpago, N26 and Orderbird. He will significantly deepen the FinTech and Payments expertise on the Raymond James global investment banking team.
The addition of Mosen demonstrates Raymond James’ strategy to build out its European FinTech practice. Since 2010, the firm has successfully completed more than 140 FinTech deals globally. The Raymond James M&A team in Europe, established just over two years ago, continues to leverage the track record and expertise in North America across Europe and Asia.
Melville D. Mummert, Head of European Investment Banking at Raymond James, commented: "Adding Marcus to the team will help us further extend the established, industry-leading payments and FinTech franchise we have in North America and Europe. Marcus has worked more than two decades in the global payments industry and will add significant value through his knowledge and relationships in the industry as we focus on building our payments and FinTech franchise in Europe. We are delighted to have an additional high caliber executive such as Marcus Mosen join our Executive Advisory Board.”
Mosen adds: “The payments and FinTech space is going through major changes driven by the need to scale, internationalize, and digitalize. In this space, M&A is often a necessary instrument to grow a company speedily and to create shareholder value. I’m excited to join forces with Raymond James who have a strong track record in financial technology and payments and as they extend this successful practice into the European market.”
Mosen has an Honors Degree in Business of Economics from the University of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, and an MBA from the University of Birmingham Business School, Birmingham, UK. He also attended the AMP program at SAID Business School and the PMD program at Harvard Business School. Before he joined Concardis in 2013, he held senior leadership roles at leading payments companies such as Ingenico and First Data.
