Raymond James expands Diversified Industrials Investment Banking practice

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. ─ Raymond James is expanding the capabilities of its Diversified Industrials Investment Banking practice with the hiring of Carl Gatenio as managing director and co-head of the building products sector team. Gatenio has 16 years of finance and M&A advisory experience working with corporate, private equity and private clients in domestic and cross-border transactions.

“Carl’s robust background in M&A pairs well with the strong and deep relationships he’s built with private equity firms,” said Jim Bunn, president of Global Equities and Investment Banking. “His wealth of industry knowledge will be a strong complement to the success and expertise of our existing professionals. Carl is a great addition to our expanding Diversified Industrials team.”

Gatenio, based in Chicago, joins Raymond James from Lincoln International, where he was instrumental in the growth of their building products franchise. He previously held investment banking and capital markets roles at Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan and Mesirow Financial. Gatenio has a bachelor’s degree from Emory University and an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

“I’m pleased to welcome Carl, who joins Brian McDermott, as co-head of building products,” said Alper Cetingok, head of Raymond James’ Diversified Industrials group. “Their combined leadership ensures we are well-positioned to more aggressively build our existing capabilities in building products.”
