Raymond James Investment Banker named a 40 under 40 recognition award winner by the M&A Advisor

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Brendan Ryan, a managing director in the Raymond James Technology Services Investment Banking practice, was named a 40 Under 40 Recognition Award winner in the Dealmaker category by The M&A Advisor. A leading publication in the mergers and acquisitions field, The M&A Advisor annually honors 40 emerging leaders under the age of 40 in each of the categories of dealmaker, legal advisor and service provider. Recipients are chosen by an independent panel of business leaders.

“It’s an honor to be an M&A Advisor 40 Under 40 Dealmaker,” said Ryan. “It’s nice to be recognized by industry experts for the collective efforts of my colleagues and me to deliver our clients exceptional advisory services and transaction results.”

Ryan joined Raymond James in 2009 when the firm acquired boutique investment banking firm Lane Berry, which he joined in 2005. He began his career at Landmark Partners, a private equity firm specializing in secondary transactions, prior to receiving his MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.

In his four years at Raymond James, Ryan has risen from vice president to senior vice president in 2010 and to managing director in 2012. He currently covers the financial technology, data/information services and BPO services sectors and has considerable experience in advising on M&A transactions in addition to sourcing and business development. Ryan has proactively led the successful development of several new calling efforts in the data/information services and BPO services sectors.

“Brendan is a skillful, intelligent and driven banker who constantly strives to achieve the best results for our clients,” said Jim Bunn, co-head of Investment Banking and former head of the Technology Services group. “His considerable M&A experience and sector knowledge have been invaluable to our clients. I’m proud of Brendan and our entire team for creating and maintaining an environment that develops and retains top bankers.”

The M&A Advisor will honor all 40 Under 40 recipients at an awards gala in New York City on June 24.

The Raymond James Technology Services Investment Banking group provides M&A advisory and public and private capital-raising services to companies around the world.  Over the last four years, the group has completed more than 85 M&A and financing transactions valued at approximately $5 billion. This is the second time that a Raymond James investment banker has been named a 40 Under 40 Dealmaker by The M&A Advisor. Alper Cetingok, managing director and co-head of the Security, Defense and Government Services group was named to the 2013 list.
