• Jason Newton, CFP®

    Vice President, Investments

Jason has dedicated his career to helping his clients build, manage, preserve and transition their wealth. He primarily works with affluent families and small businesses who have accumulated wealth and encounter complex financial situations that must be carefully addressed.

He immerses himself into the story of his clients’ lives. This helps him gain a true understanding of what is important to each, and often helps his clients more clearly define their own personal and financial goals. He then develops a comprehensive financial plan and customized wealth management strategies tailored to each client’s individual needs and risk tolerance.

“When meeting a potential client for the first time, I often say that they will find working with me to be somewhat different than many other financial advisors. With me, they will never be ‘sold’ anything. At Crescent Advisory Partners, we are consultants, not salespeople. My clients depend on me to act in their best interest, in any situation and at all times,” said Jason.

Before joining Raymond James in January 2020, Jason was a vice president of investments at Wells Fargo Advisors, where he worked as a financial advisor for more than 13 years. Earlier in his career, he worked at Carolina First Securities/UVEST Financial Services. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Francis Marion University.

He has more than 17 years of financial industry experience and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. CFP® certification is one of the most respected financial planning credentials among consumers and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning.

Jason has been involved in the community throughout his career. He is currently president and chairman of the board of Greater Florence Habitat for Humanity. In addition, he is a longtime member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Florence, a youth sporting clays coach affiliated with the South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation, and a past board member of the Pee Dee Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Jason is originally from Andrews, South Carolina. He now lives in Florence, South Carolina, with his wife, Tara, and their children, Jayce and Jules. When he’s not in the office, Jason enjoys hunting, fishing and boating; spending time traveling with his family; and coaching youths, including his own children. He is an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Florence, where he also serves as a youth basketball coach.
