James P. “Bubba” Helton Jr

Bubba has been a financial advisor in the Augusta market for over 20 years. In 1998, Bubba began his career with J.C. Bradford & Company. Before joining Wachovia Securities (now Wells Fargo Advisors) in August 2008, Bubba was a financial advisor with UBS PaineWebber and Morgan Keegan & Company. 

Now that Bubba has been affiliated with Raymond James since 2021 – together with Martin Ferrara, Justin Preissler and James McGee – he helps oversee a five-person practice. The experienced team is dedicated to helping clients meet their financial goals and objectives by preserving and managing wealth in the most tax-efficient way. They look forward to working with you and your family to discuss investment planning strategies fit for your unique situation.

Bubba, a graduate of the University of South Carolina, is active in the Augusta community. He is a past board member of the Augusta Exchange Club, the Augusta Training Shop and served on the Patchin Weston fundraising committee for the University Health Care Foundation. He is also a current member of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.

Away from the office, Bubba enjoys golf, hunting, saltwater fishing and spending time with his family on the coast. He and his wife, Margaret, live in Augusta with their sons, Jack and Hamp.
