Darren is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional and Financial Advisor with more than 23 years of experience helping clients navigate through the complex world of investment management, retirement planning, tax & estate planning, as well as risk & insurance management.

After spending more than 10 years in the corporate world of financial services, Darren founded the D. Canada Financial Group, an independent company, and he offers securities through Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. in 1999. Darren states that "as an independent company, we are able to serve our clients with unbiased and personally tailored solutions to their financial planning needs." The team has over $200 million in assets under management and serves clients in over 24 states.

Darren graduated from San Diego State University in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Finance. He earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) certification from the College for Financial Planning in 1992 and he earned his degree of Juris Doctor (JD)* from Concord Law School in 2009. Because he understands that knowledge helps serve clients better, and because the world of financial planning is everchanging, Darren has completed several hundred additional hours of continuing education in the areas of portfolio theory, portfolio management, risk management, general financial planning and advanced financial planning techniques. Darren is a Registered Principal and holds the series 7, 24, 31, 51, 63 & 65.

Darren lives in Murrieta Ca. with his wife, Melissa, and their three children, Aspyne, Aiden and Adelynn. Darren is an avid golfer, San Diego State football fan, and enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
