George Debnam, Sr. Sr, CFP® Financial Advisor

George F. Debnam, Sr. received his BA from the University of Virginia and MBA from the University of South Carolina. In 1986, he was certified as a financial planner through the College for Financial Planning.

He started his career with Westvaco in Charleston in 1962 and worked in New York City as the commercial manager of the fine papers division. He left Westvaco in 1982 to return to Charleston, where he began a career in the financial services business with Robinson Humphrey. That company evolved into Citigroup Smith Barney.

Over the years, George, Sr. served various boards and service organizations. He was a senior warden at St. Andrews Mt. Pleasant, where he remains active. He is a member of the Hibernian Society of Charleston. George and his wife, Betty, have one son, George, Jr., and three grandchildren. They enjoy travel, reading and boating.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner,  CFP Logo Flame Design and  CFP Logo Plaque Design in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
