Real estate investor, bank founder and chairman, business owner – Bill II, as he’s called around the office, enjoyed a long, successful, multifaceted career before joining his son, William Rice III, at a Morgan Stanley predecessor firm in 1993. Since that time, Bill has worked primarily with clients approaching retirement to help them develop reliable income strategies and help determine what to do with the 401(k) and other retirement plan assets they’ve accumulated over the course of their careers.
Bill II is a former mayor of Longview who served on the city council for 11 years and was honored with the Carl L. Estes Citizen of the Year award. After his second term, he was appointed to the board of directors of the Sabine River Authority by then-Governor William Clements. During his 14-year tenure, he served as president of the board for two terms. In addition, Bill II is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International and a past president of the Longview Rotary Club, as well as a former trustee of LeTourneau University.
A graduate of Baylor University with a BBA in management, Bill has always been a student of the financial markets. He greatly enjoys working with his son and grandson, William Rice IV, helping to provide clients and their families with sound financial advice.
