Kristy McGee,

CRPC®, CEP® Senior Vice President, Investments Senior Portfolio Manager

As the founding member of the Heritage Group of Raymond James, Kristy built a practice with the understanding that retirement planning means more than providing her clients with investment advice. It means helping them maintain the financial independence they’ve worked their entire lives to achieve. It means striving to ensure that they have the means to pursue what’s most important to them. And it means understanding her clients as individuals with unique goals, values and circumstances that determine the strategies she develops on their behalf.

As a senior vice president and senior portfolio manager, Kristy brings over 20 years of industry knowledge and expertise to the team and the clients we serves. She earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Texas at El Paso, where she was president for the Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) National Honor Society and part of the women’s fraternity Zeta Tau Alpha. Kristy holds her Series 7, 66, and life, health and variable annuities licenses and is a licensed Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® (CRPC), and the only advisor in a 200 miles radius to have a Certified Estate Planning® (CEP) designation. These designations require advanced training and continual education and allow Kristy to offer her clients services other advisors don’t have the expertise to. As a Certified Estate Planner, CEP®, Kristy sets herself apart as an advisor with specialized education and training related to estate planning. She believes that every client should have the confidence that comes with knowing their estate will be managed after their lifetime as they directed. Every estate (big or small) should be designed to preserve, protect, and pass on to whom they want, and how they want. Kristy works with CPAs and estate lawyers to help facilitate even the most complicated estate plans.

Kristy was chosen as a 2017 & 2022 mentor in the Raymond James Registered Associate Mentoring Program (RAMP). This program makes it possible for associates in branch support roles to take on greater responsibility within their teams, and assists them in identifying the right career path, taking strides toward becoming financial advisors themselves.

In 2017, Raymond James selected Kristy as the only Financial Advisor to attend the SIFMA conference to represent Raymond James from the advisor perspective. She sat on the advisor panel for the 2018 Social Media and Digital Marketing conference. SIFMA hosts this event for thousands of industry professionals every year, fostering meaningful conversations about the capital markets and providing valuable professional development opportunities.

Kristy is often invited to speak at many conferences to discuss different topics including retirement planning and wealth management. Educating and empowering clients is a priority to the Heritage Group of Raymond James. In 2019, Kristy McGee spoke at UTEP’s 52nd Annual Estate Planning Conference to provide education on retirement planning. In 2021, Kristy was a keynote speaker for El Paso Women’s Leadership Summit.

Kristy was always taught that you must give in order to receive, so she strives to give back to her community by volunteering her time to several organizations. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of El Paso and the El Paso Estate Planning Council. In the past she volunteered at the El Paso Children’s hospital rocking babies in the NICU and was a past board member of Junior Achievement. In her spare time, she continues to support other organizations like UTEP, Junior Achievement of El Paso, the Alzheimer’s Association, Junior League of El Paso, Zeta Tau Alpha, Gigi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome achievement center, and El Paso Opera.

Kristy is a lifelong resident of El Paso, where she currently makes her home with her husband, Michael, and their children: Alexandria, Michael, Samantha, Allison, Kate, and Robert. Kristy’s most beloved hobbies include spending time with her children, sailing and flying with her husband, cooking, and hiking with her dogs.
