Investing is the intersection of economics and psychology.

Matthew E. Sachar,

CFP® President, FFC Financial Advisor, RJFS

Matt grew up in Swampscott, Massachusetts and still lives there with his wife, Colleen, and his sons, Colton and Cameron. He graduated from Bentley College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in economics and finance.

He began his financial management career in 2000 with Morgan Stanley at its Boston office. In 2008 he founded Falcon Financial Corp. and became affiliated with Raymond James Financial Services as a Branch Manager, opening an office in Lynnfield, Massachusetts.

To be closer to his growing family, he moved the office to Salem, on the Swampscott line, in 2011. Incidentally, Matt is a golf enthusiast, and the move placed him in closer proximity to Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead, where he has been a longtime member. Matt spends much of his spare time traveling across the state to various hockey rinks doing what he loves most: watching Colton and Cameron play hockey.

In addition to cheering from the stands, Matt is fortunate to be able to skate with his sons as he takes the ice as a coach for Salem Swampscott Youth Hockey (SSYH). Matt served as president of SSYH from 2017 to 2024, and currently serves as its chairman after forfeiting the president position to the “next generation.”

Matt believes that when it comes to investing, following a plan and an appropriate asset allocation over time are the keys to success. He does not allow himself or his clients to be led by their emotions as that, more often than not, leads to poor results. These investing concepts inspired him to pursue studies on the effects of emotional decision-making, and as a result, in 2024 he earned the designation of Behavior Financial Advisor™.

In 2006, Matt earned the Certified Financial Planner® certification. In addition, he holds the following licenses:

  • Series 7 General Securities Representative
  • Series 9 and 10 General Securities and Options Sales Supervisor
  • Series 31 Managed Futures/National Futures Association Approved Person
  • Series 66 Securities Agent and Investment Advisor Representative
  • Registered agent for Life, Health and Long-Term Care Insurance

Matt has clients in at least 22 U.S. states, as well as in several foreign countries.
