Maggie Reynolds Vice President, FBIP Financial Advisor, RJFS

Driven by her desire to help others and empower clients, Maggie is known for explaining complex investment products in layman’s terms. While she serves a wide clientele, she has specialized experience working with older clients. “I have had customers ask specifically for me because I’m a baby boomer. And I understand what they’ve been through and how they feel,” she said. “I’m also comfortable speaking with clients about corn bread and buttermilk or fondant au fromage. I try to be versatile.”

Maggie joined finance through her first job at the age of 19 at a small hometown bank in south Alabama, where she operated a Burroughs machine that took up half the counter. She moved to Memphis in the early ’80s, putting her career on hold to raise her son, a decision she describes as the best one she ever made.

In 2004, Maggie resumed her career by joining First Tennessee Bank/Brokerage – later First Horizon Bank and First Horizon Advisors – where she earned recognition for her roles as a teller, financial services representative and investment adviser representative. In 2021, Maggie joined Raymond James, a decision inspired by her former colleague, RJFS financial executive Tripp Thompson. “I’ve always admired Tripp’s work ethic and his incredible intellect,” Maggie said. “His models and profiles are still used today, and he is willing to think outside the box. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with him again.”

Empathic and honest, Maggie recommends products and services that she trusts. She also makes sure to provide the sort of guidance she considers imperative, particularly after working on the retail side of the business, where she saw the hardship older couples experienced due to poor financial planning. “I want my clients to be financially secure,” she said. “I want them to enjoy their lives, especially their retirement years.”

In addition to her wealth of hands-on industry experience, Maggie holds her Series 6, 7, 63 and 66 licenses. She originally planned to get a degree in theology and attended Holmes Bible College in Greenville, South Carolina. But after realizing she didn’t enjoy studying Greek or Latin, she opted for a different path – although she’s still proud of the fact she can recite the entire 66 books of the Protestant Bible.

Maggie is a past member of Subsidium, a philanthropic organization dedicated to supporting the mission of Memphis Oral School for the Deaf. She also served on the Briarcrest Christian School Board of Trustees, where she helped raise funds for a multimillion-dollar new stadium and high school.

Originally from Alabama (“Roll tide! My parents had a picture of Jesus and one of Bear Bryant above their fireplace.”), Maggie lives in Southaven, Mississippi, with her husband, Michael. The happy couple has one son named Charles, who works as a surgeon and has three beautiful daughters with his wife, Sarah. Aside from spending time with her beloved family, Maggie enjoys playing the piano and learning to play the guitar.
