With more than 12 years of industry experience, Melissa takes a personal approach to financial planning. She puts her energy into making clients feel welcome and explains complex financial subjects in terms they can understand. She wants them to feel their voice will be heard, empowering them to think strategically about their financial future. She especially enjoys working with women in transition who have been through a divorce or the loss of a spouse. She feels it’s rewarding to be able to guide people through these often tumultuous situations. She believes in comprehensive planning and will collaborate with outside professionals such as a CPA if a client needs help in another area.

She has been affiliated with Raymond James Financial Services since 2019, and joined FirstBank Investment Partners in 2021. Before that, she served as a financial advisor at Woodbury Financial. Her background also includes roles at Prudential Financial. She earned a B.S. in business administration with a minor in economics from Middle Tennessee State University.

Giving back to the community is a priority for Melissa. She is a sustainer for Junior League of Murfreesboro, and was previously the board’s member at large for the group. She has been involved in the Rutherford County Heart Ball Committee, St. Thomas Rutherford Ambassadors, the Blue Raider Athletic Association, the Historic Main Street Taste of Rutherford, the Child Advocacy Center Duck Derby Party Committee and The Discovery Center of Murfreesboro silent auction. She also is a supporter of the Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Shelter of Rutherford County.

Originally from Watertown, Tennessee, she lives in Murfreesboro with her husband, Parker. They have two children, Walker and Ann. In her free time, Melissa enjoys cooking (especially Cajun), entertaining friends, spending summers on Center Hill Lake and traveling.
