Roper spent his early childhood in Memphis and attended Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville.  In 1990 the University awarded him a BS degree in Business Management, followed in 1992 by an MBA.  He moved to Nashville in 1995 and began his financial services career at Prudential Securities.  Four years later he moved to A. G. Edwards which ultimately became Wells Fargo Advisors, where he was recognized as a Wells Fargo Advisors Fundamental Choice Portfolio Manager. In 2019 Roper joined Raymond James as Senior Vice President, Investments for Fields Wealth Management of Raymond James.

Roper holds the prestigious CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation as well as being recognized as a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist, both designations granted by the College For Financial Planning.  He specializes in Asset Allocation and Retirement Planning.

Roper has published numerous articles on Finance for the Nashville Tennessean and has been quoted in the Nashville Business Journal.  Active in the local community, Roper enjoys helping coach his son’s sports teams and he is an active member in his church and Rotary International.  He and his wife Vonda live in Brentwood, Tennessee with their children Thomas and Elaina.
