Nick is a financial advisor with Raymond James who believes that the success of his clients is built upon trust, respect and a clearly defined plan. He helps his clients and their families by getting to know them on a personal level, understanding that everyone and every situation is unique, which requires individualized attention and customized solutions.
Nick received his undergraduate degree from the United States Air Force Academy and was granted his commission in the United States Air Force, personally, by former President George Bush. While in the Air Force he managed various airfields and conducted air traffic control operations both stateside and while deployed to the Middle East. Nick later earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Wilmington University, which served as his springboard into the financial industry. Nick is a proud veteran of Barksdale Air Force base and values involvement in his local community. He holds his life, accident and health insurance license, FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations and was awarded the AAMS designation from the College for Financial Planning.
Nick is proud to have married his bride and best friend, Laura Martin. A professional herself, she earned a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Louisiana State University Health Science Center and has a passion for pediatrics. Nick and Laura have two beautiful children, Heidi Elizabeth and John Michael, both of whom bring an abundance of both pride and joy.
In his free time, Nick and his family enjoy the outdoors, especially when it involves family gatherings, cookouts, traveling and, Nick’s favorite, fishing. They grill often, are regularly found swimming in the pool and they make it a point to attend local events and festivals. The Martins are members of Summer Grove Baptist Church and are blessed to call it home.
Nick began his career in 2013 at Edward Jones, and in 2018 he joined Raymond James. Nick focuses his practice primarily on retirement planning, wealth preservation, legacy considerations and creating an income stream during the hard-earned, sought-after retirement years.
Specifically, Nick enjoys working with families, business owners, health care professionals and those employed in the oil and gas industry. Nick has the heart of a teacher and finds no greater satisfaction than helping to design a plan and seeing that plan come to fruition.
