Senior Asset Management Consultant
R.J. Weinberg is a Vice President, Senior Asset Management Consultant, in the Asset Management Services department at Raymond James & Associates. He joined Raymond James’ Asset Management Services department in 2005 to support RJ advisors. In this role, R.J. acted as a technical consultant on all mutual fund model portfolios available through the department and developed client solutions for advisors. In 2006, RJ was promoted to assistant vice president of Florida. In this role, RJ helped advisors in the state to grow their practice using managed fee based product. In 2012, RJ was promoted to an asset management consultant for the southern half of the U.S., and, in 2014, he was asked to become the vice president of the southeast, from Alabama to North Carolina. In this capacity, R.J. is responsible for supporting advisors on a face-to-face basis by providing updated investment information that may impact their client assets, such as changes to portfolio allocations, managers or capital market assumptions; assisting in client meetings and events; and presenting ideas on managing and developing their business.
R.J. received his BS in Finance from Youngstown State University.
Senior Vice President, Senior Trust Consultant
Boyd Nelson studied law at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. His studies were concentrated in the areas of estate planning, business and tax. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1996. Prior to that he attended the University of Missouri where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a double emphasis in Corporate Finance and Real Estate.
Boyd joined Raymond James Trust N.A. in the fall of 1996. After serving in an administrative capacity, Boyd started marketing for the organization in the southwest area of Florida. Soon his responsibilities were increased to include the Midwestern states. In 2004 New York Life recruited Boyd to create and implement their marketing program for New York Life Trust Company. In 2005 Raymond James Trust N.A. brought Boyd back to launch their marketing effort to the Western United States.
Boyd is a member of the Florida and St. Petersburg Bar Associations and is active with the Tampa Bay Estate Planning Council, a professional organization of estate planners. Boyd is a Certified Trust Financial Advisor, a graduate of the American Bankers Association Graduate Trust School and a licensed Financial Advisor. He is a frequent lecturer to Financial Advisors, Attorneys and CPAs concerning estate taxes, the use of trusts and their places in estate plans.

Responsibilities include consulting with financial advisors and their clients regarding financial planning as well as income, gift, estate and charitable tax planning. Areas of practice/experience include: reviewing, interpreting, summarizing and explaining sophisticated estate plans; income tax planning and tax reduction strategies; wealth transfer planning designed to minimize and/or eliminate estate, gift and generation skipping transfer taxes; financial and estate planning for professional athletes and other professionals such as corporate executives, physicians, dentists and attorneys; working with business owners and their families with business succession planning; stock compensation planning for corporate executives; and counseling individuals and their families on planned charitable giving.
Bachelor’s in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University College of Law, and Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Florida College of Law.
