Barry Steele believes that money without purpose can be a problem, which is why he focuses on helping clients ensure their financial success by planning for it. “Our team does two things very well,” Barry says. “We help our clients achieve what they want to achieve and avoid what they want to avoid.” With a background in ministry and counseling, he helps clients navigate both the technical and emotional aspects of wealth planning.
Barry started his professional life as a nuclear power and electrical generator operator, which gave him an appreciation for the importance of explaining complex concepts simply. That experience motivates him to give clients a clear understanding of the “whats” and “whys” of his recommendations. In addition, he has spent more than 20 years working in the faith community, both as a volunteer and as a professional. He attended Naval Nuclear Power School and Sullivan University in Lexington, Kentucky.
In 2004, Barry made the transition into financial services and joined Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor. His next stop was UBS Financial Services, where he was the senior team member responsible for the stock option plan of one of the 10 biggest companies in the US. He then spent four years with Ameriprise before joining FNB Investment Services in 2012.
Barry is active with the Rotary Club and Harrodsburg Baptist Church, where he currently serves as a Sunday school teacher and chairman of the finance committee. Formerly, he was a deacon of the church and served as chairman of deacons.
Originally from Boyle County, Barry now resides in Salvisa, Kentucky, where he enjoys reading, playing golf and soccer, and spending time with his wife, Kimberly, and their three sons, Joel, Daniel and Micah.
