Steven Fortune,

CFP®, CPWA® Senior Vice President, Wealth Management

I’m originally from Terre Haute, Indiana, and have called Bloomington home since 2010, where my husband Max and I are raising two children, Skyler and Ian. After earning my Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Indiana State University in 2006, I discovered a deep passion for helping people plan and care for their futures – work that led me into the world of financial advising.

Today, as a Certified Financial Planner® professional and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) with over 14 years of experience, I bring a personalized, collaborative approach to helping individuals and families pursue their financial goals. Now operating as Fortune Wealth Management of Raymond James, I’m proud to guide clients through all stages of life – whether that means planning for retirement, saving for education, managing generational wealth, or preserving the financial future of the people who matter most.

At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to listening, learning and helping clients align their finances with what they value most. I work closely with a network of professionals – including CPAs, estate planning attorneys, and insurance specialists – to help ensure a seamless, holistic approach to financial wellbeing.

Community engagement is incredibly important to me. I’ve supported local organizations including Girls Inc. of Monroe County, Bloomington Parks and Recreation and Beacon. I currently serve on the board for the Bloomington High School South Band Boosters, where I proudly cheer on my son Skyler, the drum major of the Panther Regiment. My younger son Ian has a passion for singing and show choir and is an enthusiastic member of Bloomington Expressive Art Training.

As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am especially honored to be part of Raymond James, a firm that received a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2025 Corporate Equality Index. Raymond James shares my belief in creating inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive—at work, at home, and in the communities we serve.
