Dustin began his career in January of 2018 with Nationwide Financial. He transitioned into his current role with Financial Strategies Group in April of 2019. Dustin has a passion for investing, spurred by his involvement with the investment team at his alma mater, Georgetown College. It is Dustin’s belief that finance is one of the most important aspects of people’s lives. He strategizes with clients to develop solutions that can easily adapt and evolve as the uncertainties of life unfold.
Dustin and the FSG team have developed and refined a process they walk clients through in order to provide thorough and authentic advice to you and your family. They call it their 4-D process: Discovery, Design, Discussion, Deployment. Throughout this process, they will help you address a number of needs, including, but not limited to, wealth accumulation strategies, retirement income planning, education planning & wealth transfer planning.
Dustin uses GPM (Goal Planning & Monitoring) software to run best-case/worst-case scenario projections and aggregate client accounts, including employer retirement accounts, all in one arena. When it comes to specific investments, Dustin uses ETF’s, mutual funds, individual stocks, REITs, annuities & 529 college savings accounts in the planning process with his clients.
Dustin is a former college athlete, playing 5 years of football at Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY. A 3-year starter, Dustin earned All-Conference Honors in 2015, 2016 & 2017. In 2017, he was voted to the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame All-Commonwealth Team. He graduated from Georgetown in 2017 with a double major in Economics & Communication/Media Studies.
He is a member at Church of the Highlands in Huntsville and actively serves on the church’s ‘Dream Team.’ He is also active in Highlands small groups, planning to lead a Financial Peace University Group this fall. Dustin faithfully serves with the local NE Alabama Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization, speaking at schools and events across the valley. He also volunteers with Huntsville’s chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), making presentations on mental health to high school and middle school students as a part of their national “Ending the Silence” campaign.
Aside from financial planning, Dustin is most passionate about the game of football. He currently serves as a coach for ‘The Field’ Football Academy, teaching middle & high school athletes the fundamentals of the game. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, outdoor activities like hunting & fishing & managing a small side business with his dad, Steve. He is the older of two brothers. His younger brother, Dylan, is a teacher & football coach at Hewitt-Trussville High School in the Birmingham, AL area.
Dustin is a registered investment advisor and plans to begin the process of obtaining his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification within the next year.
