With more than 40 years of experience in financial services, Gary is recognized for his empathetic, analytical and client-centered planning approach. As president and CEO of First Western Advisors and a financial advisor with Raymond James, he provides retirement planning, investment management, educational funding, tax efficiency, estate planning and more to help clients build and transfer wealth to future generations and pursue long-term financial security.
Gary holds an MBA and bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Utah and began his career at Sorenson Research before moving into investment management as a registered representative at Kidder Peabody. He holds Series 4, 7, 24, 53, 63 and 65 licenses. His insights on complex legal and financial issues have made him a valued mentor and public speaker, having spoken at prestigious industry events such as the Utah Bar Association and the National Association of State Securities Regulators.
Outside of work, Gary leads an active lifestyle that includes weightlifting and boxing, and he enjoys attending concerts and sporting events. A founding member of the Board of Frances W. Burton Foundation, he is also deeply committed to giving back to his community. He lives in Sandy, Utah, with his wife, Lisa. They have five children and 12 grandchildren.
