Credentials that inspire confidence
Professional credentials in financial planning are more than just letters after a name – they’re a reflection of an advisor’s dedication to excellence and ongoing education. These designations represent a commitment to staying current with industry regulations, best practices and evolving client needs. For you, it means knowing your advisor is equipped with the knowledge and integrity to provide sound, personalized guidance.
Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®)
Scott M. Kimball, Joshua C. Liljenquist, and Jeffrey W. Teran are Certified Financial Planner® professionals. Individuals certified by CFP Board have taken the extra step to demonstrate their professionalism by voluntarily submitting to the rigorous CFP® certification process that includes demanding education, examination, experience and ethical requirements. CFP® professionals are bound by fiduciary duty to provide financial counsel in the best interests of their clients.
When selecting a financial planner, you should feel confident that the person you choose to help you plan for your future is competent and ethical. The CFP® certification helps provide that sense of security by allowing only those who meet the requirements the right to use the CFP® certification marks.
Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®)
Joshua C. Liljenquist holds the CPWA® designation. Working with a CPWA® designee offers several benefits for individuals of significant wealth. The certification demonstrates financial professionals have advanced knowledge in areas such as portfolio management, risk management, asset preservation and legacy planning. Further, the credential equips advisors with the tools and strategies required to address the distinct challenges faced by affluent individuals and families.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner®, and CFP® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization's initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
Investments & Wealth Institute™ (The Institute) is the owner of the certification marks “CPWA®,” and “Certified Private Wealth Advisor®.” Use of CPWA®, and/or Certified Private Wealth Advisor® signifies that the user has successfully completed The Institute’s initial and ongoing credentialing requirements for wealth advisors.
