Matt began working in financial services as a junior member and corporate pilot in 1995 under the tutelage of two successful business/wealth managers, ultimately starting a franchise under their umbrella. He was subsequently acquired by a consulting firm, where he focused upon corporate succession strategies and institutional retirement plans. After another acquisition, Matt joined Merrill Lynch in 2005 and worked with them until he joined the Raymond James team in 2012.
He received his BS degree from Purdue University in Aeronautical Engineering, majoring in aviation economics. Matt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Certificant, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., a Certified Investment Management Analyst, a Chartered Life Underwriter®, and a Chartered Financial Consultant®. Matt is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association, Financial Planning Association, Mt Pleasant Rotary Club and Mt Pleasant Presbyterian Church as well as a Chamber ‘Leadership Charleston’ graduate. Matt is President of the Board of Jazz Artists of Charleston and on the Board of Advocates for Metanoia. Finally, he is a lucky husband to a beautiful wife and proud dad to a 13 year old son.
