Professional designations
To better support our clients’ goals, members of our team have completed optional professional training. This what these designations mean.
Certified Financial Planner® certification
The Certified Financial Planner® professional designation is widely considered the standard for excellence in financial advisor education owing to its rigor, ethical requirements and continuing education demands. The CFP® program, administered by the CFP Board, digs deep into the principles of financial planning, from basic household budgeting through complex investment and estate planning. To earn the designation, applicants must meet the “four Es” requirements – education, examination, experience and ethics.
Certified Private Wealth Advisor®
The Certified Private Wealth Advisor® professional training program is designed for experienced financial advisors who support the sophisticated investment and wealth planning goals of households with significant wealth. Alongside its opportunities, significant wealth brings a variety of challenges that may be best mitigated with specialized advice. To earn the CPWA® designation, advisors much complete coursework and an examination, and pass ethical standards. To maintain the designation, designees must meet continuing education requirements.
Accredited Asset Management Specialist™
The Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ designation is a foundational education program for financial planning professionals who work with individuals and their personalized investment strategies. In addition to portfolio strategy, AAMS® designated professionals are taught to look at assets holistically, and includes coursework on insurance, taxes, retirement and estate planning.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner®, and CFP® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization's initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
Investments & Wealth Institute™ (The Institute) is the owner of the certification marks “CPWA®,” and “Certified Private Wealth Advisor®.” Use of CPWA®, and/or Certified Private Wealth Advisor® signifies that the user has successfully completed The Institute’s initial and ongoing credentialing requirements for wealth advisors.
