Matthew Harring

Matthew Harring,

CFP®, CPWA® First Vice President, Wealth Management Private Wealth Advisor

Since the early years of his career supporting families with multigenerational wealth, business founders and other highly successful people, Matt has seen how more complexity is rarely what his clients need. Instead, the greater value has always been in setting a plan, managing risk, getting the details in order and making sure to lead with a clear and communicative point of view.

This has remained the foundation of his approach – as a financial advisor, a serial entrepreneur and a business leader – the pursuit of technical excellence married to a clear-eyed understanding of his client’s true objectives.

“My philosophy: Plan proactively, communicate transparently, and always put the client’s best interest first. Wealth should fuel life, not control it.”

– Matthew Harring

Q+A with Matt

What’s the book at the center of your bookcase?

“The Intelligent Investor” by Benjamin Graham. It’s timeless investing wisdom.

What’s the book at the bottom of the case?

Tax code manuals. They’re useful to keep on hand, but not so inspiring.

What’s your ideal vacation?

For an active vacation, it’s skiing in Colorado. To relax, it’s a family resort in the Bahamas.

What is something essential you carry in your work bag?

A well-worn leather notebook that has solved more problems than any app.

Crossword puzzles. Pen or pencil?

Pencil. There’s always room for adjustments.

Sticky notes or phone notes?

Depends. Sticky notes for quick, temporary reminders. Apps for organized tracking.

How many category colors are on your calendar?

At least four.

How do you define success?

I want to help clients achieve what they thought was impossible, and be invited into the circle of trust of deeply private families.
