More than half of Michael’s wealth management practice is made up of individuals & families while the other portion comprises corporate-sponsored qualified retirement plans. For his retirement plan sponsors, Michael specializes in managing assets and providing broader services regarding fiduciary compliance, employee education and plan design.
“I want to help our corporate plan sponsors improve the efficiency and participation of their retirement plans offered to their employees,” Michael says. “And I truly believe that I can.”
Michael strives to be his clients’ most trusted advisor. “I want to make a difference,” Michael says. “We truly have a “client-first” agenda in our office and I believe Raymond James will make us even better at what we do.”
Michael began his career as a registered representative with Prudential Insurance in the late 1980’s and was promoted to staff manager two years before leaving the firm in 1991. He spent the next several years in Maryland as director of financial services for a national accounting and benefits firm before moving back home to join a Pittsburgh-based accounting and financial planning firm as vice-president. For many years throughout those two decades, Michael also co-hosed a weekly financial radio talk show and was also on staff as an adult education financial planning instructor for Community College of Allegheny County.
In 2001, Michael helped create and became Managing Partner of HHM Financial Services, LLC and earned his Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst (AIFA®) designation in September 2003. In 2008, Michael created Heritage Wealth Management Group, LLC and continues today to serve his clients as president of the firm.
Michael also currently serves as a board member of Coraopolis Community Development Foundation, which helps his community through various outreach programs, including a division of the Salvation Army and a local food bank.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Michael lives in Moon Township with his wife, Julie.
They have three children: Ryan, who is a Financial Advisor with Heritage Wealth Management; Matthew, a business management major at Coastal Carolina University, and Rachel, currently pre-med at West Virginia University.
