Michael offers comprehensive wealth planning to our clients. He begins by identifying each client’s current situation and gaining an understanding of their needs and goals in order to evaluate and implement strategies that address important financial issues and minimize any gaps in their plan.

Highly experienced in wealth planning strategies and business planning for affluent families, individuals and business owners, Michael has extensive knowledge in the areas of estate, business and retirement planning.

Being an effective listener helps Michael develop plans and strategies that precisely address each client’s specific needs and situation. He is well-versed in working with individuals and business owners, along with their CPAs and estate planning attorneys helping clients coordinate all aspects of their financial lives.

Ultimately, his goal for our clients is to guide them and their families through all the significant stages of life, so they can focus on enjoying their lives.

Michael spent the first 17 years of his career in accounting, management and consulting positions that allowed him to build a solid foundation for being able to assist our clients. He has spent the last 20+ years, as a Financial Advisor, utilizing these foundational experiences to help make a difference in clients’ lives. In addition, he served as an adjunct faculty member in Accounting at the University of Detroit-Mercy.

Michael is a CPA and holds Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 securities licenses and Michigan resident life, health insurance and variable contract licenses. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University and an MBA from Wayne State University. He has also earned certifications and designations as a Certified Exit Planning Advisor® (CEPA®); Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®); and Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor (ADPA®).

He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Michigan Association of CPAs, the MICPA Curriculum Task Force, and the MICPA Personal Financial Planning Task Force. Michael is a board member and treasurer of the Shearer Block Condominium Association. In January 2022, he will begin his participation on the Stewardship Committee of the Bay Area Community Foundation. He is also a member of the Men’s Philanthropy Group at the Bay Area Community Foundation.

Michael grew up in Metro Detroit and moved to Bay City, where he lives today with his wife, Barbara. They have two grown children, Sarah and Joshua. In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with family, cooking, travel, exercise, reading and anything related to Michigan State University.
