Tim
Timothy, known to most as simply Tim, leads the multigenerational team at Holcombe Private Wealth of Raymond James. He brings more than three decades of experience in wealth management and a dedication to supporting the financial lives of families across the United States.
Tim’s journey into financial advising began with a strong academic foundation. He earned his Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics from The University of Georgia, followed by an MBA in business and personal/financial services from Georgia State University. He is a Certified Financial Planner® professional and holds the Private Wealth Advisor designation from Raymond James.
Throughout his career, Tim has cultivated deep, lasting relationships with his clients. Each relationship is built on trust, empathy and a genuine interest in their lives. He often reflects on the privilege of being one of the first calls a client makes during life’s most pivotal moments, underscoring the profound responsibility he feels for understanding and guiding their financial journeys.
Today, Tim’s practice operates with the sophistication of a family office, serving two primary niches: multigenerational families and women managing their finances independently. It’s especially important to him that his female clients know he and the team are always in their corner. His commitment to personal connection is evident in the thoughtful traditions he’s established, with warm, heartfelt gestures that grow with every passing year.
At the heart of Tim’s work is the mantra: “Do the right thing.” It’s a guiding principle that informs every plan, conversation and decision he shares with his clients. He believes that this ethos empowers him and his team to make a meaningful impact – one family at a time.
Get to know Tim
Where do you call home?
I’m originally from the east side of Atlanta in Decatur, Georgia, but I currently live with my wife, Anne-Michele, on a 40-acre farm in Cleveland, Georgia – which is home of BabyLand General if you owned a Cabbage Patch Doll. We raise Highland cows together, and getting out on the farm and breathing the mountain air is my true happy place.
Do you have any children or grandchildren?
I have two sons, Perry – who is part of our practice’s team – and Drew. I also have three grandsons: Andy, Ely and Scottie.
What does your ideal vacation look like?
I love to go on road trips with my wife, and we both enjoy picking a route and finding fun places to stop along the way. On our trip to Dallas, we made a stop in Laurel, Mississippi, as well as San Antonio, Fredericksburg, Waco and Austin in Texas.
Which books get the prime spot on your bookcase?
Three spring to mind: The Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande, The Complete Collection of Lewis Grizzard by Lewis Grizzard and Grit by Angela Duckworth.
Are you more likely to hire someone or DIY?
Both. You have to know your limitations. Given the time and the right tools, I can build almost anything, but I know when to hire a professional for the job.
