Eugene C. Hunziker,

CFP®, CPFA Branch Manager Registered Principal, RJFS

Like many of the entrepreneurs he serves, Gene is also a business owner. As a result, he understands the needs and concerns of his clients – and, most importantly, he knows how to proactively identify and address them.

As a financial industry veteran with 35 years of experience, Gene has experienced many different market and economic environments. He has guided his long-standing clients through them all and, as a result, has earned their trust, loyalty and respect.

In addition to providing prudent financial guidance to business owners, he has also served families and retirees in and around Chicago and across America ever since he established Hunziker & Associates back in 1992.

Today, the Hunziker family legacy of serving clients is ensured, as Gene’s daughter, Ann, now serves as a co-leader of the group. The combination of Gene’s accrued financial wisdom and Ann’s active role in researching fund managers and selecting investments for client portfolios has created a capable team.

Gene chairs the branch’s investment committee, which is responsible for the development and implementation of our investment strategy. It is based on a philosophy that places an emphasis on a long-term investment horizon, quality investments and a comprehensive plan consistent with clients’ goals and risk tolerance.

As a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, Gene has attained the prestigious CFP® certification, the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning. He is also a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor who assists with the management of company retirement plans by helping plan fiduciaries manage their roles and responsibilities.

Gene is a member of the Financial Planning Institute and the International Association of Financial Planners. He holds Series 7, 63, 65 and 24 licenses, as well as the Illinois license for life and health insurance.

Gene began his professional career as an environmental design engineer in 1973 after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri School of Science and Technology. Upon graduation, he accepted a position with Greeley and Hansen Engineers in Chicago. As a project engineer, he designed and built industrial processing plants and received his professional engineer credentials. In 1982, he transitioned to the financial services industry with Paine Webber.

Dedicated to making a difference, Gene serves on the board of directors of Turning Pointe, an organization for the advancement of autistic children. He is an active member of SERTOMA (Service to Mankind), a local charity that primarily provides assistance to special needs children. He is also a past board member of the Chicago Animal Welfare League. In addition, Gene is a member of the finance committee of SS.
