Cynthia S. Thompson is a native of Roanoke, Virginia. She graduated from Rhodes College with a B.A. in Political Science. Cynthia has been a financial advisor since 2004 after a successful career with Ethicon, Inc. as a surgical sales specialist.  She is a Vice President of IMPERA Wealth Management, LLC.  Raymond James Financial Services Inc., Member FINRA/SIPC is the broker/dealer.  Cynthia is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC©) and an Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS©) and holds series 7 and series 66 securities registrations, as well as a licensed insurance agent with Louisiana, Mississippi, Maryland and Virginia.  

Cynthia knows the importance of planning for the long term.  She specializes in financial and/investment-based solutions and estate and wealth transfer issues for families with children with disabilities, especially in the area of Special Needs planning. She works closely with attorneys, CPA's and other specialists to help families evaluate their options especially regarding elder planning for families with older special needs children who may be approaching long term care issues. She has an understanding of the complex pre-retirement needs as well as maximizing resources for retirement. Cynthia is passionate in her efforts to educate her clients and the public about these issues because as life spans are increasing and retirement is lasting longer, this is a strategic retirement issue that she believes cannot be overlooked. 

She is a long standing member of the West St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce and the Chairman of the Board for 2017. She is also on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity West St. Tammany. She is a past State President of the Louisiana Federation of Business and Professional Women. She won the national Nike award from the National Business and Professional Women organization in 2006 for her work in redeveloping local BPW chapters after Hurricane Katrina. In 2012, she was recognized at one of Louisiana’s “Most Powerful and Influential Women” at the Louisiana’s Women’s Conference hosted by the National Diversity Council.
