My maternal grandparents were Holocaust survivors from Warsaw, Poland. In 1942, through what can only be described as a miracle, they secured passage on the SS Drottningholm, an exchange ship that brought them safely to Ellis Island. They arrived with almost nothing, having lost nearly all their family members and possessions during the war. Despite these unimaginable hardships, they rebuilt their lives in New York City, working tirelessly in factories to make ends meet, saving diligently, and eventually achieving financial security. From them, I learned the value of money and the importance of living within your means.
I grew up in the Catskill Mountains of New York, where my parents were both devoted public school teachers for over 40 years. I vividly remember my father leaving early each morning and staying late after school, while my mother spent evenings preparing lesson plans. Their commitment to their students and tireless work ethic taught me the importance of diligence, responsibility, and integrity. My father also had a passion for gardening. He carved out four large terraces on a steep hillside and meticulously planned, planted, and maintained a thriving garden each year. Watching him taught me that thoughtful planning and consistent effort yield meaningful results, an approach I’ve carried into my professional career.
These experiences, combined with my passion for investing and truly seeing how money can grow and compound over time, led me to a career in wealth management. Today, I am a Certified Financial Planner® professional with 27 years of experience. Prior to joining Raymond James in 2018, I held positions at Gruntal & Co, Prudential Securities, Wachovia Securities and Wells Fargo Advisors. I am a member of the Financial Planning Association. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BA in economics.
I currently live in Westchester County, NY, with my wife, Heather, and our two children, Anthony (21) and Sasha (15). In my free time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, skiing, playing tennis and golf, and undertaking various home improvement projects.
