Stephen Orzo,
CFP®, CPFA™
Managing Director
I was born and raised in northern New Jersey, fortunate to grow up in a home that valued education, discipline, and compassion. My mother, a devoted teacher for over 40 years, instilled in me the importance of patience, active listening, and a sincere desire to help others. My father worked in technology at Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan, introducing me to the world of finance and investing at an early age. I still remember the excitement of opening my first brokerage account with his help when I was just 12 years old.
That early exposure ignited a fascination with investing, which led me to begin my career as a stock trader. Over time, I discovered that my true passion lay in financial planning. It allowed me to combine my analytical mindset with a long-term perspective to make meaningful financial decisions, not just for myself, but for others as well. Today, I strive to be an advisor who leads with empathy, prioritizing my clients’ financial well-being and long-term prosperity above all else.
I earned my degree in finance from Boston University, where I also met my future wife. We now live in Montclair, New Jersey with our two wonderful daughters, who are currently in elementary school. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, and playing or watching sports, especially basketball and golf.
Professionally, I hold the Certified Financial Planner® certification, awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) designation from the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA). Prior to joining Raymond James in 2018, I worked at Wells Fargo Advisors and RBC Professional Traders Group.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner®, and CFP® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization's initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
