Steven Woods’ passion for financial planning began early, counting coins from the family jar and watching his summer job earnings grow in the bank. That curiosity evolved into a career focused on helping others build financial well-being and prepare for the future.
Steven began his professional journey as a recruiter, helping clients find meaningful employment. He later purchased a long-term care insurance agency, guiding individuals and families through strategies to manage healthcare costs in retirement. In 2016, he joined Raymond James to offer a broader suite of services, such as investment management and retirement planning.
Steven holds the Wealth Management Specialist (WMS®) designation, which reflects his advanced knowledge in asset allocation, retirement income planning, estate strategies and risk management. This credential enhances his ability to deliver comprehensive, client-focused solutions tailored to each client’s financial goals.
A lifelong resident of Franklin, Indiana, Steven graduated from Franklin Community High School, where he was a four-year athlete in both football and wrestling, serving as team captain for both sports his senior year. He earned his degree in English and philosophy from Wabash College, where he also played football and was elected team captain. His passion for writing led him to contribute to several campus publications and later pursue an MFA in creative writing from Butler University.
Steven lives in historic downtown Franklin with his wife and three children. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, hiking, fly-fishing and spending time outdoors with his family.
