With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services arena, Janel advises individuals, corporations, retirement plans and charitable foundations. She and her group specialize in all facets of wealth management, including estate planning, retirement and financial planning, insurance analysis, risk management and investment allocation, as well as solutions for high net worth corporate executives. Focusing on legacy planning, Janel works alongside other professionals, such as estate planning attorneys and CPAs, to design, implement and review solutions to help clients reach their financial goals and objectives.
Born in Glenview Illinois, Janel graduated from Loyola University in Chicago with a BA in Finance and Economics. Working full time while in college, Janel began her career working as a runner and phone clerk at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). She then worked her way to an equity trader position, breaking down barriers, by becoming one of only a handful of female market makers in the Chicago area at the time. She was a market maker in NASDAQ securities for 15 years, until she joined Morgan Stanley in 2000 as a Financial Advisor. In 2008 she moved her practice to Raymond James in Winnetka Illinois. Janel obtained the CEP® (Certified Estate Planner)designation in 2010. Her licenses include Series 3, 7, 55, 63, 65, and she also holds Life, Long Term Care and Annuity Licenses. Janel's community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors of Children's Oncology Services INC., a 501C3, which facilitates camps and programs for children with cancer. She has been active with this organization for 24 years. She is currently serving as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors. When not in the office, Janel enjoys spending time boating in Lake Geneva, WI as well as traveling, going to concerts, and staying active with her two Bichons.
