John has assisted individual and corporate investors for three decades, beginning in 1983 with Manley, Bennett, McDonald, & Co. which later became part of Thomson McKinnon Securities. He joined Roney & Co., now part of Raymond James & Associates in 1989. John focuses on helping clients manage the life transitions they face--retirement planning, charitable planning, education planning, and estate planning. John provides wealth management advisement services focused on risk management to enhance and ensure the affluent client's plans for present and future generations. John has been quoted at length in business publications such as Ticker, and has been featured in the business segments on local television stations.
John has served as Director and President of a number of non-profits in the area, including the Securities Traders Association of Detroit and Michigan, which assisted members of families of the financial services industry during times of need. John is also past president of The Steam Railroading Institute, and served as a technical liaison on the 2004 film "The Polar Express". John is an active artist in his spare time, creating watercolor and canvas impressions of many local landmarks. He lives in Bloomfield Hills with his wife Susan, who is a strategist and consultant to the non-profit world. Together they enjoy golf, traveling, gardening, wine tasting, and volunteering for community efforts.
