For over 35 years John has helped his clients pursue their dreams and goals using traditional and investment alternatives. His comprehensive knowledge helps to guide high-net-worth individuals in preserving and growing their wealth.

John began his career with McDonald & Company Securities in 1981 as a registered investment advisor. Six years later he became Branch Manager of McDonald’s Rocky River office in the historic Bridge Building.

In 1996 John founded the independent advisory firm of Johnson Financial Group, LPL. He served the Westlake, Ohio firm as President and Registered Principal for seven years.

John became a Senior Vice President of Wachovia Securities Westlake in 2003. He became a Senior Vice President of Wells Fargo Advisors in 2008, when Wells acquired Wachovia. He joined Raymond James in June 2017.

What attracted me to the industry, and continues to motivate me,” John says, “is the enjoyment I feel while helping people achieve their financial goals – not only for themselves, but for their families and succeeding generations.”

In addition to holding many securities and insurance licenses, John is a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute® at the Wharton School of Business -- a three-year executive program for leaders in the financial services industry.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from The Ohio State University in 1976, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.

A past president of the Cleveland Exchange Club, John has been active in many civic, community and faith-based groups in the Cleveland area over the years.

When not in the office, John enjoys spending time with his family, boating, gardening, and reading.

A Northeast Ohio native, John and his wife Ella live in Bay Village and have four wonderful adult children. While John misses the days of coaching their various sports, he is looking forward to attending the future sporting events of his new grandson!
